Microsoft announces Yammer integration now available on Teams
Microsoft have just announced that their releasing Yammer integration today for their Microsoft Teams collaboration video conferencing app.
The release will be in the form of a new app they’re calling Communities which will offer much stronger Yammer integration for organisations using both Microsoft Teams and Yammer, essentially adding the latter to the former.
Put simply, it’s Yammer – in Teams
By bringing Yammer into Teams, we want to make it easier for leaders and communicators to quickly and effectively communicate with their teams and organizations, even when they need to work apart
The new app can be used by companies and individuals to stay up-to-date with everything happening in their organisation without ever having to leave Teams.
Yammer integration can now be stored from the Microsoft Teams app store and will appear as a dedicated tab on your Teams sidebar. It’s then a simple step to access Yammer from within Teams, enabling you to share updates, ask questions, share polls etc.
Currently it will only work on desktop and web versions of Microsoft Teams, not being available for mobile devices just yet but Microsoft have confirmed there’s continued development planned to improve the Yammer experience within Teams, introduce new features and unify both notifications and search between the two platforms.
