Microsoft Teams new features have been designed to streamline workflows and automate Business Processes
Microsoft Teams, Microsoft’s collaborative software, has and is to receive new updates designed to streamline and automate business workflows and processes.
According to the statement released by Microsoft, the new features will massively expand Teams collaboration potential with new was for developers to build in low code/no code solutions. Third party developers will even be able to add in their own apps and services.
Many of these new features are available today whilst others will be rolled out in the coming months.
Some of the functions that have been added in for developers will enable them to create chatbots and other apps whilst visualising data within Teams. This will be possible due to the enchantments made to the Powe Platform.
On the flipside there’s already been a lot of third-party vendors bringing their apps under the auspices of Microsoft Teams with Polly, Open Agora, Miro, iCIMS and HireVue all becoming available later this year.
The management tools have also had an upgrade with device management and monitoring options for Microsoft Teams Rooms Standard and Premium being added that will make it much easier for IT admins to deploy and manage Microsoft Teams to larger numbers of devices at once.
Admins will be able to manage Teams Room devices including collaboration bars, IP phones, and others devices from one location via the spruced up admin console.
Microsoft will also be offering Teams Room management as a managed service.
Other apps that will arrive in Microsoft Teams in August (just desktop to start but mobile functionality will follow towards the end of the year) include field workforce management and communication tools Shifts and Timeclock plus, as already reported, Yammer Communities.
Playing up to it’s strengths, remote-working related additions to Microsoft Teams will include much stronger cyber security for organisations with a workforce working from home such as Microsoft Office 365 data loss prevention (DLP) tools to end-user devices and insider threat risk management and compliance solutions.
